Archaeologist Lin Ye ventures into the fabled "Golden City", a hidden mountain town rumored to be paved with endless gold, in search of his missing sister. But he soon discovers it is no paradise: notorious bandit Kui has trapped refugees here with fake gold promises, forcing them to mine real gold at gunpoint. Lin must hide his identity, track down his sister, and rally the oppressed refugees to outwit Kui's guards and escape this golden prison before they are all enslaved or killed.
