Young grain bureau cadre Shen Wan volunteers to take charge of the run-down Lianhua Grain Station to fulfill her grandfather's dying wish of “guarding the hometown grain station”. On her first day, she catches a grain merchant passing off inferior grain as quality, and uncovers a 3,000-jin discrepancy between the inventory books and actual stock—behind this lies Uncle Zhou, the old station director who has treated her like a daughter.
