Office worker Lin Xiaotang picks up a broken, unwriteable pen on her way home from an all-nighter, only to find it houses a "Fortune System"—writing "Bad luck begone" makes her exploitative supervisor slip on a banana peel into a flower bed, drawing "Wealth arrives" drops a winning lottery ticket, and she can even sketch evil-repelling immortality talismans! But right after she uses the pen to prank her supervisor, her cold neighbor Gu Yan blocks her at the stairwell: "That pen is mine." It turns out Gu Yan is a hidden immortal, and the pen is his artifact to find the "Ancient Lucky Star"—and Lin Xiaotang is the reincarnation! While using the system to reverse her life and become a small business owner, she bickers and flirts with the "pen owner"—her talismans are always more effective because Gu Yan secretly infuses them with spiritual power; when she’s harassed by a client, Gu Yan pretends to pass by to help, yet insists "I just want my pen back." It’s only when Lin Xiaotang uses the system to save an endangered Gu Yan that she realizes: It’s not her who found the pen—it’s the pen that chose her long ago.
