The little Taotie insists, “I, a fierce beast, don’t need human food!” while secretly stuffing its cheeks full, even getting its sharp teeth stuck with candied fruits. Just then, rumors spread that “a man-eating monster hides in the warlord’s mansion.” Warlords rush in with guns, but when they open the door, they see—the chubby Taotie licking sugar from a teacup, and the warlord family holding plates, shouting: “Little darling, have another osmanthus cake!”
