In the five years since her boyfriend Lin Chen went missing, Su Xiao stands by the window of their rented apartment every morning, murmuring their old promise: "At dawn, you'll be back". One early morning, a knock on the door startles her. When she opens it, she finds a man who looks exactly like Lin Chen - he claims to be a detective investigating a cold case and seems bewildered by Su Xiao's greetings.
