Lin Xiaoman, a medium who makes a living by "seeing ghosts" but is labeled a fraud, meets Cheng Mo—a man just released from a mental asylum who holds a photo of a missing girl and claims to "hear the unspoken words of the dead". Coincidentally, that girl is exactly the ghost who commissioned Lin. Forced to team up, Lin sees fragments of the ghost's death while Cheng senses the fear hidden beneath her anger. However, they accidentally uncover the truth about Cheng's past: he was sent to the asylum for exposing the hospital's illegal human experiments, and the missing girl was a victim. When the "doctors" come to erase evidence, Lin realizes Cheng isn't crazy—he's the only one who can understand the "silence" of the dead. What they're searching for isn't just the missing girl, but the "truth" that two people, deemed "fake" by the world, crave the most.
