In the misty riverside town of Jiangnan, Lin Wan tends her family’s ancestral ferry, bound by two unyielding rules: only ferry ordinary villagers, and never carry the wealthy, powerful or those who have betrayed others. Now broken and desperate, he returns with his terminally ill young son, begging Lin Wan to take them across the river to a remote mountain herbal healing hut. Torn between a decade of pent-up rage and the sight of a dying child she cannot ignore, Lin Wan hesitates at the helm as the evening wind sweeps through the old dock. Her ferry will soon carry not just passengers, but a reckoning ten years in the making.
