In 1998, the old brick factory in a northern town becomes a "gray territory" ruled by a black-hearted contractor—wage cuts and overwork are routine. Lin Xiaoman, a young kiln worker, stumbles on the contractor colluding with forces to smuggle ancient bricks, trapped in a dilemma: stay silent to survive or expose the truth?
