In the 1980s, Lin Xiaoman, an educated youth who couldn't return to the city, was assigned to a barren hillside. Guided by an old farmer, she discovered the land was perfect for growing watermelons. Despite villagers' mockery and fund shortages, she teamed up with fellow educated youth Zhao Lei to start planting.
