After returning to China, Lin Wan notices strange things happening in her family. Her cousin died mysteriously after drinking the so-called “soothing soup” left by her grandma. One late night when Lin Wan comes home from overtime work, her mother serves her a bowl of the same warm soup, urging her to drink it nervously. Full of vigilance, Lin Wan pretends to obey while secretly recording their conversation. Later, she finds clues in her mother’s secret notes: her mother added “sleep-aiding” ingredients out of fear that Lin Wan might suffer outside, but her cousin’s death has another hidden truth. The soup becomes the key to uncovering the mystery, pushing Lin Wan into a dilemma between family affection and the truth.
