Lin Ye, a young carpenter, discovers half an old wooden plaque carved with mysterious hydrological symbols while sorting his grandfather's belongings. It is a fragment of the topographic map his grandfather drew for the border. To fulfill his grandfather's last wish, he ventures alone into the primeval jungle coveted by poaching gangs, evading pursuit while searching for the missing other half of the plaque. Along the way, he meets Su Xiao, a sharp forest ranger, and they grow from mutual suspicion to working together closely. They not only fight against the poachers' chase, but also uncover the secret hidden by his grandfather before his sacrifice: the plaque holds key coordinates for border security, a secret that nearly costs Lin Ye his life.
