Modern office worker Lin Mo accidentally bonds with a dying unnamed wild god, becoming a "tool god" with barely any incense offerings. He initially wants to laze around idly, but unexpectedly discovers that modern people's daily wishes—from takeout orders, civil service exam success to startup comebacks—can be converted into abundant divine incense. He also meets Sue, a skeptical workplace elite in deep trouble, who mistakes him for a "koi god" and prays to him. To survive by gaining incense, Lin Mo is forced to strike a deal with Sue, using his "wild god's guidance" to help her succeed. Along the way, they develop feelings. Eventually, with the constant modern incense, he breaks free from the wild god's restraints, attains true divinity, and rewrites his own "godly life".
