Hidden at the end of a late-night alley is an "Emotion Supermarket" open only at midnight. Its owner Lin Xiaomai can sell or exchange various emotions: instill courage for the frustrated, and take away expired regrets for the lonely. One day, a mysterious customer clutching an old candy wrapper trades his treasured memento (from his mother) for the courage to face the truth, accidentally uncovering Lin's hidden secret that she opened the supermarket to retrieve her lost empathy.
