Discouraged by job loss and a broken relationship, Lin Xiao flees to the deep mountains where her grandma once lived. She finds grandma’s old wooden cabin and a diary with secrets and a blurry map. There she meets Lao Zhou, a taciturn forest ranger who seems cold but secretly helps her when she’s in trouble. As she digs deeper, Lin Xiao discovers Lao Zhou was grandma’s savior, and grandma’s expected “homecoming” is actually Lao Zhou’s years of waiting and protection in the mountains.
