Lin Xiao returns to her hometown to settle her grandmother's hawthorn tree yard and sorts through old belongings, finding a hawthorn wood carving inscribed with her name. This triggers a youthful secret with her childhood friend Chen Mo from ten years ago: they agreed to confess under the hawthorn tree but missed each other entirely due to an accident. Lin Xiao believes Chen Mo left without a word, while in reality he hid his whereabouts because of family changes. When they reunite, the wind chimes on the hawthorn tree ring suddenly, making the misunderstandings and unspoken feelings buried in time gradually clear.
