In a snow-laden border town, orphan A Xia tracks down her long-lost childhood friend Lin Mo via an old letter left by her mother, meeting at an abandoned photo studio. Amid heavy snow, Lin Mo arrives with a fake identity, bearing the secret of taking the fall for A Xia's mother ten years ago. Inside his pocket, A Xia finds half of a jade pendant her mother once gave Lin Mo as a token. Just as she is about to confront him, police sirens blare outside—Lin Mo's old crime is about to be exposed, and in the stillness of the snow night, the light and shadow of human nature are torn apart instantly.
