Lin Mo, an ordinary office worker with a fixed salary barely enough for his family, has a sick mother to support and a primary school kid to educate. His company is on the verge of layoffs. He tiptoes to keep his job while taking odd jobs secretly to make ends meet, but is misunderstood by his wife for hiding money, triggering conflicts. Later, he accidentally finds out the layoff is a trick by the boss to make room for his relatives, thus starting a story of survival, family bond and tough choices.
