Modern office worker Lin Xiaoman transmigrated overnight into the "vicious general's wife" from a storybook—she was supposed to harm the female lead, but woke up under house arrest by General Gu Jingshen for "colluding with enemies." When urgent news came that military rations had moldered and soldiers were dying of heatstroke at the front, she risked her life to take out the refrigerator (for storing food) and pressure cooker (for quick cooking) from her portable space. She stayed up all night making cool mung bean soup and warm meals for the army. When Gu Jingshen saw his "spoiled" wife squatting by the stove, wiping sweat, and holding an air conditioner fan to cool the wounded, his sharp doubts about her "treason" finally melted into an unhidden affection in the smoke and firelight.
