Lin Wan, the guardian of the Buddhist pagoda, is ordered by her master to protect the thousand-year-old "Jingxin" Buddha beads that can suppress greed. However, the beads, rumored to "bring the dead back to life", attract Gu Tingshen, a rising business tycoon—his younger sister is on the verge of death, and only the beads can save her. Gu disguises himself as a pilgrim to approach Lin Wan. Amid the tug-of-war between "stealing" and "guarding" the beads, they gradually develop feelings. They then discover the true secret of the beads: they are never a life-extending artifact, but a mirror of true hearts—only love that lets go of obsession can save others and oneself. When Gu finally decides to give up stealing the beads, Lin Wan takes the initiative to hand them over—because she realizes she has long fallen for him, and this heart is the most effective "antidote".
