Shen Wantang, a concubine's daughter in the Hou Mansion, was bullied by the main wife since childhood. To avenge her mother, she pretends to be a fragile "sick beauty" but is unexpectedly taken into the Regent Xiao Jingyan's residence. She plays an easily manipulated pushover in the Hou Mansion while acting as a "love-struck concubine controlled by Gu poison" in the Regent's mansion, secretly gathering evidence against her enemies. When those who framed her mother are brought to justice one by one, Xiao Jingyan confronts her with her "fake Gu poison recipe" — it turns out she deceived everyone, but her true feelings belong to the Regent who once took a fatal sword strike for her.
