Chang Dandan, a Beijing drifter pursuing her acting dream, bounces from audition to audition every day but is repeatedly rejected for not having a "social media-worthy face". On a rainy night after a failed audition, she crashes into Ming Chuan, the CEO of Jinghua Investment—known as an ice-cold man who "only cares about profits, not people". To her surprise, he offers to help her get an audition opportunity. But when Dandan finally lands the second female lead role, she discovers Ming Chuan is the show's biggest investor. Gossip spreads that she "got the role through connections", so she starts avoiding him. However, she accidentally finds him secretly reshooting her injured scenes on set and even arguing with the director to keep her original lines. It turns out Ming Chuan saw Dandan as an extra in a theater three years ago; her passion for acting had moved him when he was going through a career slump. When the "dream" meets reality, can they break through the identity barriers and turn this "dream" in Jinghua into real love?
