Lin Shu, a disciple of the Thousand Doors (a secret society of gamblers), infiltrates for three years to avenge her father by killing "Gambling King" Fu Shen. But on the eve of her attack, Fu Shen gives her a ticket to the "Abyss Gambling Game"—and takes a bullet for her, dying in her arms. When Lin Shu puts on Fu Shen's jade ring and takes his seat at the game's top table, she finds a secret letter: Fu Shen knew her identity all along. His death was a loyalty token for the "National Gate Guardians"—and what she must win is not the gamble, but the final battle to stop foreign forces from siphoning off national assets.
