Lin Xiaoman, an advertising planner who works overtime until midnight, stumbles into the "Green Mountain Academy" in an old alley while seeking inspiration for intangible cultural heritage cultural and creative products. She runs into Zhou Yanzhe, an aloof "old scholar" who guards the academy and buries himself in ancient books—he complains that her hot pants dirty the bluestone path, and she teases him for looking like a Republic of China scholar in round glasses. They quarrel fiercely over "whether the academy should become an internet-famous cultural and creative spot", but when they help an old man restore old books and cook osmanthus honey lotus root together, they discover the softness hidden under each other's sharp tongues: Zhou Yanzhe guards the academy to fulfill his grandmother's last wish, and Lin Xiaoman works overtime desperately to prove that "tradition can also live in the present". When the tsundere scholar finally relents, "Let's try your plan", and when Xiaoman squats on the threshold, sipping the ginger tea he made, and says, "Actually, you look good in glasses", under the eaves of the old academy, a sweet collision between tradition and modernity is quietly fermenting into the warmth of love.
