On the night Chang'an fell, the Empress fled with her young princess, leaving only bloodstained robes under the rebels' blades. The Emperor issued a royal decree to find his daughter, unaware the real princess had been saved by a village doctor. Ten years later, the once innocent girl has grown into a cold, skilled young woman with a poison-coated dagger—she sharpens her blade to avenge her mother's death against the rebels, and to reclaim the dignity and truth of a princess from the Emperor who "failed her mother's dying wish". Meanwhile, the Emperor still burns incense for his "dead" daughter's memorial tablet, never suspecting the blade of revenge is already pressed against Chang'an's city walls.
