Su Xiaoman, a new transfer student at Elite High known as the "problem-solving maniac," is unexpectedly paired with Gu Zeyi—the school heartthrob and every girl's dream guy—due to her homeroom teacher's "special arrangement." Gu Zeyi appears cold and unapproachable on the surface, but he's actually a "hidden warm guy" who secretly fixes classmates' stationery and feeds stray cats. Afraid of gossip, Xiaoman deliberately keeps her distance, yet she's gradually touched by his little acts of kindness: he helps her retrieve her blown-away problem notebook, cutting his finger on the paper without a word; he pretends to be her brother to rescue her from bullies; he even secretly changes his notes to match Xiaoman's problem-solving style. Just when Xiaoman finally works up the courage to ask, "Why are you so nice to me?" Gu Zeyi suddenly leaves for a national basketball tournament. Before departing, he leaves a note: "Wait for me—I'll come back to be your deskmate." Little does he know, Xiaoman has long noticed him too—the boy feeding stray cats by the playground has already found a place in her problem notebook.
