Su Wan, a sophomore, accidentally breaks the limited-edition model of Lin Chuan, the school heartthrob, while delivering a love letter for her best friend. Lin Chuan smirks and proposes a "contractual compensation": be his exclusive assistant for a month. Su Wan thinks it's revenge, but she soon finds Lin Chuan's "pranks" are actually tender gestures—saving her a window seat in the library, shielding her from annoying suitors, and even carrying her three kilometers to the hospital when she has a fever on a rainy night. One day, when Su Wan finds Lin Chuan's diary, she's shocked to learn he'd noticed her feeding stray cats on the playground half a year ago—the so-called "trap" is just a "crush confession" he'd planned for six months.
