Lin Xiaoman, a little-known starry sky picture book author, returns to her hometown Xingzi Town to search for clues about her missing grandfather, only to bump into Lu Xingyao, a cold CEO who’s there to inspect homestays—this man is frantically looking for the little girl who saved him under the “Star Wish Tree” in his childhood. Their first encounter over the tree is a disaster: Lu thinks Xiaoman is “using the stars to hype”, while Xiaoman mocks him for “having a bigger ego than the tree”. But when Lu sees the “firefly starry sky” in Xiaoman’s picture book, he’s instantly moved to tears—it’s the exact scene he saw when he was saved as a kid! And the star necklace left by Xiaoman’s grandfather perfectly matches the half-jade pendant Lu has cherished… Before the misunderstanding is resolved, clues about her grandfather’s disappearance and the secret of his childhood rescue are slowly woven into their “star promise” with the evening wind of Xingzi Town.
