Lin Zhao, a new office rookie, joins Gu's Group to pay off her father's debts. On her first day, she accidentally bumps into CEO Gu Tingshen—this rumored "ice-cold boss who keeps women at a distance" actually holds her steady with trembling hands, a fluster in his eyes he can't hide. Lin Zhao doesn't recognize that this man is the "little crybaby" she saved outside the orphanage in her childhood; yet Gu Tingshen has remembered her for over a decade: the fruit candy wrapper she gave him is still in his wallet, the glass marble she taught him to blow is still in his desk drawer. Thus, the CEO starts his "secret wife-pampering plan": moving her desk next to his, giving her hot cocoa when she works overtime (claiming "the secretary bought too much"), and changing her business trip hotel to a suite with starry views—all replicating the warmth she once gave him. When Lin Zhao finds out the truth from old photos, Gu Tingshen stands downstairs holding the marble: "You were the light that broke into my darkness. Now let me be your 'Ting'—a home where you can always find shelter."
