Min Jie, a ruthless and bloodthirsty man, knows he has only three months left to live. Yet on a rainy night, he takes in Shen Jinshuang, a girl abandoned by her family. He meant to stay indifferent, but when the girl curled up in his arms and called him "brother", the thorns in his heart suddenly softened. The hands that once wielded knives now learn to cook hot porridge; the man who once had no attachments now lives only to "stay with her until the end". When Shen Jinshuang finds the chemotherapy needle marks under his suit, and Min Jie thinks he's hidden everything perfectly—Is this love, counting down to an end, a sweet in the thorns, or a thorn hidden in the sweet?
