Su Wan, an ancient painting restorer, stumbles upon a damaged scroll *The Moonlit Lord*. Every midnight, when moonlight floods the room, Xie Zhao—clad in moon-white silk—steps out of the painting. He’s a nobleman sealed a thousand years ago for guarding his family’s treasure; only restoring the scroll can break the curse, but it will also make him vanish from the mortal world forever. As they grow close during the restoration, Su Wan is torn between freeing him and clinging to the warmth of his moonlight presence. On the night the painting is finally complete, Xie Zhao holds her paint-stained hand, kisses the corner of her eye under the moon, and asks: "Would you come with me to the world in the bright moon, and never part again?"
