Modern office drone Su Xiaoman pulls an all-nighter for a project, only to wake up to a woman in ancient palace robes crouched on her bed—who claims to be her thousand-year-old ancestor, Murong Zhao, the Shu Imperial Concubine of the Shengkang Dynasty! This ancestor, a cultivator stuck in the mortal world due to unfulfilled obsession, brings a "Family Counterattack System" and demands Su help clear her name from false accusations of losing the emperor's favor so she can ascend. But the concubine knows nothing about modern life: she mistakes milk tea for "imperial syrup" (and ends up with a swollen lip), thinks a smartphone is a "magic mirror," and forces Su to wear hanfu to client meetings—accidentally revealing Su's talent for hanfu design. Enter Gu Jingshen, Su's boss and descendant of the general who once tried to vindicate Murong Zhao. As the trio navigates cross-temporal chaos (and plenty of laughs), Su finds herself falling for Gu, only to discover their romance is intertwined with her ancestor's past. Can Su help her ancestor move on, turn her own life around, and win love?
