Fresh graduate Lin Xiaoman joins an advertising company determined to succeed on her own, vowing not to rely on her parents. But she’s repeatedly sabotaged—her team leader steals her ideas, a client makes things hard on her, and she’s on the brink of being fired. Just then, her mom—who’s always been a “square-dancing mom”—shows up. It turns out mom is the founder of the client’s company; she missed Xiaoman’s growth for her career and now secretly acts as her daughter’s “invisible backing.” Xiaoman falls out with mom over the “nepotism” misunderstanding, until she finds mom’s “growth diary” (written for ten years) hidden in the drawer.
