Lin Xiaoman, a newly promoted highway administrator, just finished debugging the last toll station of China's national highway network. On her celebration night, her grandfather tells her: "Now that the highways are connected, our Lin family's 'Yiguan Nandu' must begin." She dismisses it as nostalgia—until she finds in the family tree that every "highway completer" must undertake this "Nandu"—not to flee, but to find the "road guide" buried by their Eastern Jin ancestors. When she enters an ancient cave with a GPS, she time-travels to 327 AD (Eastern Jin Dynasty), where she bumps into a donkey-riding "ancient version of her grandfather," who shouts with a bamboo slip: "Are you here to build the 'highway' for us?" Torn between modern work demands and the ancients' longing for fast roads, Lin realizes: "Yiguan Nandu" was never about escaping—it's about connecting roads from the past to the present.
