Lin Xiaoman, a modern office worker, accidentally travels back to 1978 via an old account book and becomes a temporary worker at a supply and marketing cooperative in a small town. To gain a foothold, she uses modern thinking to revive unsold inventory—selling expired cans to nostalgia collectors and turning slow-moving coarse cloth into retro clothes for Guangzhou dealers. But the crime of "speculation" looms like a sword. Director Zhou of the cooperative is watching her closely for anomalies, her childhood friend and educated youth Chen Dongyang misunderstands her as "going bad", and worst of all, a mysterious IOU in the account book points to Director Zhou, dated exactly the day she time-traveled. As she earns her first pot of gold in the cracks of the era, she must uncover the secret behind her journey: is it an accident, or a carefully laid plan?
