Lin Xiaoman, an intern reporter, returns to her hometown to investigate her mother's death in a fire years ago. One rainy night, she strays into an abandoned theater and meets Cheng Yan, a silver-masked night watchman—he is both a witness to the fire and the son of a murdered entrepreneur, lurking here for revenge. From mutual suspicion to joining forces, they uncover that the fire was a cover-up for a real estate company's profit scheme, and the killer from years ago is watching them closely. In the embers of summer, with truth unravelled and danger looming, can they tear through the night's fog and confront the true hearts hidden beneath their masks?
