Lin Xiaoman takes a high-paying job as a "midnight sleep tester" to raise money for her brother's surgery—she has to stay at the haunted "Guixu Hotel" for 7 days. On the first night, strange things happen: the bathroom faucet turns on by itself, an old photo of a woman in a red dress appears under her pillow, and most terrifyingly, she dreams of becoming the woman in the photo—Su Xiao, a former tester who went missing three years ago.
