Lin Wan is a top-tier "midnight sleep tester" specializing in investigating haunted homestays, but her true motive is to uncover the truth behind her mother's wrongful death—five years ago, her mother died due to a "paranormal incident" at a high-end hotel, with the trail leading to Lu Chengchuan, president of the hotel group. To get close to the core, she devises a "contract marriage" with Lu, infiltrating the group as his wife. At midnight, she pretends to be timid to gather evidence while dealing with Lu's deliberate probes; Lu, seemingly cold, has long noticed her agenda but indulges her—turns out he's also investigating the same old case. When the "haunted truth" collides with "past grudges," are they enemies or allies? Will the blade of revenge point at each other, or their common foe?
