On the sultry night after the college entrance exam, timid Lin Chen confesses his three-year crush to school belle Su Qing by the riverbank. Just as he nervously presents his love letter, Su Qing's mother emerges from the shadows of a streetlamp. In panic, Su Qing shoves not a love letter, but a dusty book stolen from her mother's closet into Lin's hands. Between its pages lies decades-old newspaper clippings about an unsolved murder, with her father's name on the flyleaf. The summer breeze carries away young romance, leaving only bloodstained secrets swirling under flickering lights.
