Xiang Jingzhi, a four-year Beipiao (Beijing drifter), has just been laid off and dumped. While squatting outside his rental house eating instant noodles, he gets a call from a stranger—his father, missing for a decade, left an old yard in the Beijing suburbs for him. He goes there as his "last hope," only to uncover the secret that his father, a former architect, was framed years ago. Unexpectedly, he meets Su Xiaotang, an intern from the company involved in the frame-up. From mutual suspicion to joining hands in the investigation, Xiang Jingzhi not only lets go of his resentment over his father's "abandonment" but also regains his original intention of staying in Beijing and finds love amid the old yard's warmth.
