Lin Yang, the "Little Medical King" in ten villages, has cured many difficult diseases for villagers with his family's secret medical books and acupuncture skills, but he is called a "quack" by Su Wanqing, a female doctor from the city hospital who comes for research. They are locked in a bitter dispute over the conflict between "traditional vs modern" medical concepts. Until an unknown diarrhea epidemic breaks out in the village, and Western antibiotics fail, Lin Yang uses his family's secret "Ginger-Jujube-Argy Wormwood Soup" to quickly relieve symptoms. Su Wanqing then discovers that his secret recipe contains undiscovered herbal active ingredients. At this time, an out-of-town pharmaceutical factory targets the secret recipe and wants to buy it at a low price. Lin Yang refuses to sell to keep his family's motto, but Su Wanqing proposes a "traditional + modern" R&D cooperation—can this pair of "rivals" resolve their conflicts and protect the villagers' "health root"?
