Lin Qingxuan, a young Taoist raised in Qingxu Temple, is sent down the mountain by his master to find the lost "Lingxi Jade," with only the clue: "Stop at water, see truth in fire." New to the city, his Taoist robe gets him mistaken for a cosplayer. He accidentally saves Su Wan, a career woman framed by coworkers—and the crescent pendant around her neck matches the ancient drawing of the Lingxi Jade exactly. Su Wan initially thinks he's a hokey fraud, until her company faces "supernatural overtime incidents": files burning on their own, computers playing funeral music out of nowhere. When Lin fixes everything with a Taoist talisman, she realizes this "rustic kid" has real skills. But as more jade clues surface, a group of sunglasses-wearing men start following them. Lin soon finds out: his "simple mission" is actually a trap set long ago...
