Lin Xiaoman, a socially anxious librarian, lives a “zero-social” life—until mysterious tenant Lu Zhao moves into the old villa downstairs. He always borrows her favorite obscure poetry collections, leaves handwritten notes like “Today’s wind carries osmanthus fragrance” in the books, and even stands in front of her silently when she’s harassed by a drunkard. Just as Xiaoman finally dares to give him her osmanthus cake, she finds a 10-year-old photo in Lu Zhao’s diary: the girl who gave him an umbrella with cherry blossom embroidery in the rain is exactly her younger self! It turns out this “uninvited” heartbeat was already a foreshadowing Lu Zhao had been searching for ten years.
