Lin Chuan, a descendant of a medical genius, went undercover as an intern at a city hospital to find his master's killer, only to be mocked by everyone for 'lacking qualifications and connections' — the director's daughter called him a 'gofer,' and his supervisor dumped all the dirty work on him. When tycoon Qin Yuanshan fell terminally ill and all experts were helpless, Lin Chuan used an ancient prescription left by his master, reviving the dying man with just one dose! This feat turned him from a 'laughingstock' to a 'divine doctor,' but it also attracted Sato Ichiro, a Japanese 'ghost doctor' — he not only wanted to challenge Chinese medicine but was also the one who killed Lin Chuan's master years ago! Lin Chuan decided to fight openly: in a nationally live medical competition, he broke Sato's 'poisonous gu needles' with acupuncture, exposed his crime of massacring a village to steal a medical classic, and finally won the competition, avenging his master and restoring the glory of Chinese medicine.
