Fuxing Walled City in the old town holds the last traces of old Hong Kong’s human warmth—Lin Aqiang, who grew up here, became the “leader of the walled city” by helping neighbors, and his biggest wish is to keep the old houses left by his ancestors. Ye Cheng, a newly returned architect, comes with the developer’s “old city renewal” mission, determined to turn the dilapidated walled city into a high-end business district. They clashed from the first meeting: Aqiang led neighbors to block the demolition team, while Ye Cheng used blueprints to argue about “future benefits.” But when Ye Cheng found his grandma’s old silver bracelet in the attic and recalled the warmth of eating wonton noodles with her as a child; Aqiang also discovered that Ye Cheng’s design secretly preserved the old opera stage and sugar water shop—turns out, what both want is a “new world where memories don’t disappear.” When the final demolition order comes, the former rivals stand together as “two heroes protecting the walled city,” determined to build a “new future with old memories.”
