Laid off and dumped by her boyfriend, former Beijing white-collar worker Lin Wan flees back to her hometown's cozy alleyway and opens a small dessert shop. Quiet street vendor Chen Mo often leaves warm sweet soup and home-cooked meals at her shop entrance. Without grand words, he soothes her broken heart with ordinary, warm daily moments. Just as Lin Wan lets her guard down, she uncovers a decades-old secret: Chen Mo has known her since she took shelter from the rain here as a teen, and they once made a promise to stay together for half a lifetime.
