Female photographer Su Wan returns to the northern Tibetan snowline to capture the legendary "burning aurora", only to stumble into the observation camp of Lin Shen—an astrophysicist she parted ways with years ago over a misunderstanding. Lin is secretly tracking a "time-space residual image" hidden in the aurora. Trapped by a snowstorm, they’re forced to share the tent. Su discovers Lin’s research is linked to her missing younger brother, while Lin’s obsession with the aurora is using his final observation to win back the smile of the girl who gave up her photography dream to save him. As snow covers the tent and the aurora bursts into embers in the night sky, they’re betting if time can push the ones they missed back into each other’s arms.
