Lin Xiaoman, a 30-year-old working mom, is determined to secure a school district apartment for her daughter's admission to a top primary school—only to clash with Lu Chuan, an arrogant real estate agent who turns out to be her childhood "frenemy deskmate"! They fight tooth and nail over the last "school district gem": camping outside the owner's door at midnight to outwait each other, faking a "second-child certificate" to jump the queue… But amid the rivalry, they uncover each other's soft sides—Lu Chuan missed confessing his love to Xiaoman years ago due to a misunderstanding, and now he's using "competition" as an excuse to reapproach her; Xiaoman also starts to question if "a school district house is everything for her child". Just as they let go of the fight, the owner suddenly says the house is no longer for sale… In this battle for housing, are they really fighting over a home, or the lost youth they never reclaimed?
