Lin Shen, a vengeful young master who has feigned muteness for three years, needs a "wife" as a cover to get close to the enemy who framed his family. He runs into Su Xiaoman, a "chatty songstress" singing on the street—this loud-voiced, meddlesome girl is desperate to raise money for her terminally ill mother. Lin Shen proposes a contractual marriage: he’ll cover her mother’s medical bills in exchange for her playing the "obedient wife." But Su Xiaoman refuses to follow the script: she chatters nonstop to the "mute" him, snatches his bitter medicine and drinks it down, and even jumps out to curse when he’s bullied by enemies. Lin Shen’s disguise is on the verge of being broken by her liveliness, and his cold revenge plan is gradually warmed by her presence. When the truth closes in, will he choose the hatred buried in his heart, or the girl who pulled him out of the darkness?
