Lin Wan, a painting restorer, has a fatal fear of fireworks—rooted in a fire at a fireworks alley when she was seven, which took her opera master. One day, Gu Zhao, in a moon-white robe, brings a half-burned *Banquet Under Fireworks* for restoration—the woman in the painting looks exactly like her. As the painting is restored, Lin Wan frequently dreams of her past life: she was A Ruan, an opera actress, and Gu Zhao was the luthier who shielded her from a falling pillar. They promised to see all fireworks, but a man-made fire tore them apart. This life, Gu Zhao returns with an obsession to help her let go, yet his figure fades under fireworks—he’s an uncrossed spirit from the past, only able to stay if Lin Wan overcomes her fear. When New Year’s fireworks rise, Lin Wan reaches out trembling: is she grabbing the regret of the past, or the warmth of the present?
