Lin Wan, a traditional fireworks restorer hidden in an old alley, guards her master's unfinished "Starfall" formula and a secret—her vision is fading at 10% per month, a result of a childhood fireworks explosion. Then photojournalist Chen Mo bursts into her workshop with a faded photo of "Starfall," the last work of his late mother. As they team up to recreate the fireworks, they uncover the truth about the old accident: Chen Mo's mother's lens might have captured the explosion that caused Lin Wan's visual impairment. As Lin Wan's world gradually sinks into darkness, Chen Mo uses his camera to piece together a starry sky for her. And for the final fireworks show, she's determined to burn all her light into his eyes.
